TRIP WIRE is an indie rock band from San Francisco favoring tight harmonies and 3-minute songs with memorable hooks inspired by The Beatles, The Replacements, Guided By Voices and Teenage Fanclub among others. They have found a fan base in the resurgent Power Pop community and have had their songs included on the highly influential and widely regarded Power Pop compilations from Sweden’s ICE CREAM MAN and David Bash’s INTERNATIONAL POP OVERTHROW (IPO).
TRIP WIRE was formed by Marty Schneider and Bill Hunt who have contributed to the San Francisco Bay Area indie music scene for the past 20 years with bands Light Sleepers, The Midway Delta, The Campbell Apartment, Captain Fatass, and The Generous Grants. They recently replaced their rhythm section with Stu Shader (percussion) who has professionally gigged in the Bay Area music scene (On Broadway, Berkeley Square, Oasis, The Edge) for several years during the 1980's. At that time, he studied at Blue Bear School of Music where he had the opportunity to play with various members of Santana, Steve Miller, Chuck Prophet and Greg Kihn. He was also the drummer for John Hitchcock's big band. Jeff Shelton, the mastermind behind Power Pop stalwarts Spinning Jennies and The Well Wishers, joined the band on bass and guitar.
